Pageantry is a potent tool for outstanding business contacts,
identifying economic and intellectual potentials, and exchanging technological
expertise and development of partnership among various companies in the labor
market. It is highly noted and regarded that a veritable tool for promoting
industrialization and commerce, entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership moral
inclination.
CULTURAL PAGEANT
DVTC’s initiative- is to serve as a breeding ground for the
country’s cultural and tourism values and potentials to be uplifted by the
future leaders. The initiative is not only assisting in engendering vacation
culture in the youth from an early stage, but also ensuring that they develop
sound patriotic zeal, charitable vision, financial management skills, and
creativity.
QUEEN OF CULTURE & TOURISM NIGERIA.
The zeal of birth of this
initiative is the social responsibility owned up by the management so as to
meet up to the desire to reinvigorate its excellence in patriotism.
QCT’s interest in the
campaign for tourism & cultural values awareness in Nigeria is firmly
believed on the tremendous potentials for growth. Its main objectives are to
highlight the views and opinions of the country’s upcoming leaders both
politically and economically, to present their upcoming projects and thus,
create a constructive and positive brand of Nigeria at international level.
QCT has the aim of
presenting a genuine perspective of possibilities of foreign investors and
businessmen that will be encountered in Nigeria, through the pageant, ensuring
that the country is no longer associated to bad news but to economic
empowerment, creativity, entrepreneurship ensembles and attractive investment
opportunities.
The program is well planned for, in view to
grooming credible and variable leaders who will someday elevate the country to
one of the leading nations of the world.
National costume or regional costume can express
local identity and emphasize uniqueness. It is often a source of national
pride.
QCT could not have been a better time than now, when Tourism has begun to
climb its peak due to economic reform of the present administration.
It is with this vision, that we enjoin corporate
organization like yours to help strive and bequeath lasting reminders of our
cultural and tourism values to future generation of Nigeria.
OFFICE OF THE QUEEN
v To organize Queen of Culture
& Tourism Nigeria Imo State 2012 beauty Pageant, and to choose among
others, the most beautiful, cultured and intelligent girl between the ages of 18 – 25 years, who will
be ready to continue the works of creating the much needed Tourism awareness in
the state, to project state Tourism sites and potential to a world standard.
v To inculcate vacation culture into the heart of the youth in the state.
v Activation of Vision SK for Orphanages and Homes.
v To inculcate cleanliness culture into the state.
v To eradicate prostitution and unwanted pregnancy among the youth.
v To wage war against drug addiction among the youth.
v To enhance creation of recreation centers and amusement park in all the
local government area of the state.
v To encourage beautification through planting of trees and flowers
especially at some strategic areas within the Local Government Area.
v To identify and upgrade the existing tourist sites in the state through
the office of the queen.
OUR EXPECTATIONS:-
v
Hotel Accommodation for the participants and
organizing committee.
v
Hall for the event proper.
v
Prizes to the winners, cash and other gift items as
consolation prizes for the runners up.
v
Air condition coastal bus for field trips to
Tourist sites, factories and offices of sponsors within the state.
v
Media publicity, Print and Electronic media. e.g.
T.V, Radio, Newspaper, Handbills Flexi banners and Invitations, Event’s
Pamphlet, Backdrop e.t.c.
v
Entertainment includes artiste’s performance, P.A
equipments and Transportation, Lighting and full multimedia package. As stated
in the estimate attached.
CAMPING
Ø Contestant:
To a maximum of 18 contestant spread across
Different ethnic group and states of Nigeria
Ø Date
for event: Propose period
June/July 2012 subject to change from sponsor.
Ø Venue:
Any good tourist attraction in the Imo.
Ø Duration: 10-14 Days.
Ø Activities: Organization of tours and adventurous trips to the
different tourist attractions in Enugu State for the contestants.
Ø Grooming: Cat walk, Run way and poise training for the
contestants.
Ø Dance: Training and grooming the contestant on live
cultural song/dance from the local government they are representing. Also the
contestant need to be groomed for a live cultural group dance tagged Unity
Dance which would on display to the audience to promote, unity and togetherness
even in the face of to competition.
Ø Physical
fitness: We shall endeavor to
take contestant on physical fitness in camp to stand the rigors of the
competition.
Ø Pep
talk: Resource personality
in the area of culture, tourism and pageantry shall be invited to the camp to
educate the contestants.
Ø Costumes: Getting the costume designers interacting with the
contestants on choice of costume befitting the culture and tradition of
contestant respectively. Also the fitting of the choreography costumes for the
general dance.
Ø Question
& Answer: IQ session is one part of the competition
which shows the intelligent level of the
participant, in which we needs to be rehearse or practice on forms of questions
and how it should answered in view of the vast tourism potential of the
country.
Ø Hair
Do: The need to bring in professional hair stylist to
the camp at least two days to the final event to design and create a befitting
hair style in relative to the contestant costume’s and tradition.
The camping period shall be use to foster friendship and inculcate the
much needed vacation culture in the heart of the contestant so also to fine
tune the Queen of Culture & Tourism
Nigeria. Imo State 2012 in order to have befitting event to world standard.
THE MAIN SHOW…One Night
The first appearance of the contestant shall be a
non scoring cultural choreography by all the participants.
There shall be four scoring rounds as follows:
v 1st
The casual round:
Contestant coming out in an outfit made with locally made fabric e.g. Ankara
v 2nd
The Traditional/Cultural round: Contestant coming out their full cultural regalia and dancing to live
cultural/traditional song in relative to her attire and local government area.
v 3rd This is the evening gown round where each one
shall come out in an evening gown made with our locally made fabric also give
the opportunity for IQ test where each of the contestant shall pick a number of
her choice from a set range of numbers, questions mainly National/state culture
and tourism base.
v The judges shall there hence choose among the
contestant the best five amongst them that shall go in for the 4th and final
round.
v The
last five round of Cultural folk song: Each of the five finalist still in adorn in their evening gown attire
shall come out one after the other to render folk song in their original
dialect which could backed up any of the other contestant. The song shall be
followed up by a general question based on the would pet project according to
their vision on the prospect of enhancing the growth of Tourism & Culture
in Nigeria as a whole.
CHOICE OF QUEEN.
The Queen of Culture & Tourism Nigeria. Imo State 2012 shall be decided by the decision of the Judges based on Carriage,
Facial beauty, Walk, Cultural Dance, Poise, Hair-do, Fashion and Creativity,
IQ, Folk Song.
JUDGES.
The judges shall be five in numbers with four
scoring while the fifth shall be the Chief Judge who will not be scoring but
collation of marks from the rest four judges.
SCREENING DATE
The screening of contestant comes up after the
sales of form for a month and this must be done minimum of two weeks to the
camping resumption date to allow the qualified contestant adequate time for
preparation. The camps resume 10-14 days to the grand finale as the working
crew resumes two to three days before the contestants.
The scope of our
targeted audience for the glamorous Queen
of Culture & Tourism ranges from the state governor, commissioners,
state legislators, Local govt. chairmen, and stake holders in Tourism
Industries while the proposed date is October
2012 or any other visible realistic by the state.
